Call of Duty Black Ops 6: What is SAM Trials?

In Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, S.A.M. Trials are a new feature in Zombies mode that offers players random challenges for big rewards. Here’s a detailed look at S.A.M. Trials, including how to unlock and complete them.

What are S.A.M. Trials?

S.A.M. Trials are optional challenges in Black Ops 6’s Zombies mode that usually appear at the start of round 8 or 10. When you get the prompt, it means there’s a S.A.M. Trial to participate in. Players need to find and activate the Trial Machine, spending a certain amount of Essence to start the challenge.

How to Unlock S.A.M. Trials

Find the Trial Machine: In the game, the S.A.M. Trial Machine will emit a purple beam to guide players there. Opening the map will make it easier to find its location.

Activating the Trial: The initial activation costs 500 Essence, and the cost will gradually increase as the number of rounds increases. After completing the trial, you will receive a big reward, including Essence, repair materials, and other items.

S.A.M. Trial Challenges
Each S.A.M. Trial has different tasks, such as:
Kill ten zombies in two minutes using the ARC-XD vehicle.
Eliminate zombies in a specific area.
Use specific equipment (such as grenades) to make kills.
After completing these tasks, players will receive an “elite reward”, usually a golden box containing random rewards such as repair materials and in-game currency.

Reward mechanism
Even if the task is not completed within the specified time, the player can still get some basic rewards based on the number of kills. If there are no kills at all, the trial will fail and the player will not receive any rewards. Therefore, try to kill at least some zombies in each S.A.M. trial to ensure that you get rewards.

Notes
Special zombies: When playing S.A.M. trials, special purple-eyed zombies will appear. These zombies are born only for this challenge. Even after the round ends, they will continue to appear to help players complete the task.
Multiple participation: After successfully completing a challenge, you can continue to participate in more S.A.M. trials. As the number of rounds increases, the rewards will be more generous, so it is recommended to participate as much as possible.

S.A.M. trials add new challenges to the Zombies mode of “Black Ops 6”, making the game experience more colorful. By making reasonable use of these random challenges, players can not only improve their survivability, but also collect more useful resources. Whether in “Free Mode” or “Cooperative Mode”, actively participating in S.A.M. trials is an important way to enhance the fun of the game.
